Chinese Dance

I've been dancing since I was five. Over the years, I've done Chinese dance, jazz, hip-hop, and ballet, but Chinese dance is my favorite and the one that I consistently do. Chinese dance allows me to feel truly alive. Different from ballet, which focuses on precision, Chinese dance feels much more fluid. I could just move and dance without worrying too much about the techniques and whether I was carrying out all the moves exactly. Additionally, Chinese dance originates from life. There are many different categories of Chinese dance, ranging from traditional, to the folk dances of each of the 56 ethnic groups. Each style is distinct from the rest and connects strongly to the culture it originates in.
